This flu season, encourage your patients to come at the onset of flu symptoms

  • Only 43.6% of adults (aged 18 years and older) received an influenza vaccination during the 2014-2015 influenza season.7
  • If taken within 48 hours of symptom onset, antiviral therapy may8:
    • Reduce the severity of illness
    • Shorten the duration of illness
  • The flu can be especially serious for children younger than 5 years old, especially those younger than 2. In fact, each year an average of 20,000 children under the age of 5 are hospitalized due to flu-related complications.9
