Flu symptom treatment options

Treat the Flu

If you're feeling flu symptoms like fever or aches, there's a good chance you might be coming down with the flu. But only your doctor can tell for sure.

The flu virus can be particularly serious for children younger than 5 years old, especially those younger than 2. If your child has flu-like symptoms, contact your doctor as soon as possible.

If it's the flu, your doctor can prescribe prescription flu medicines that can help stop the virus from spreading and shorten the time you are sick. If your child is sick, your doctor can provide you with information about prescription flu medicines that are approved for children.

Flu Prevention

Don’t wait for the flu to catch you. There is a lot you can do to help minimize the risk of getting the flu, even if you’re exposed.

Good preventive health habits, an annual flu shot, and prescription flu medicines can help protect you and your family from the flu — even during flu season.
